4. 2x Super Bowl MVP

It’s common knowledge that the New York Giants have won two Super Bowls with Eli Manning at quarterback. It’s the crowning achievement of Manning’s career, and the foundation for his Hall of Fame candidacy and campaign.

What’s often understated and under-appreciated, however, is the fact that Manning is in rare territory with the signature strength on his resume.

Manning is one of five quarterbacks in NFL history to have won multiple Super Bowl MVP awards. The others are all-time greats and Hall of Famers: Tom Brady (4), Joe Montana (3), Bart Starr (2), and Terry Bradshaw (2).

One could argue that said quarterbacks are over Manning on the all-time list, but the fact that he shares this incomparable accolade with said players is undeniably powerful.

Manning is one of 12 quarterbacks in NFL history to win two Super Bowls, and only two aren’t in the Hall of Fame. Peyton Manning will inevitably make it on the first ballot, and Plunkett won one fewer Super Bowl MVP award than Eli Manning.

In other words: 100 percent of the other players who have won two Super Bowl MVP awards are or will be Hall of Famers, and 90.9 percent of the other two-time Super Bowl winning quarterbacks will be, as well.

The numbers work in Manning’s favor.
