New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins was voted by his peers as one of the Top 100 players in the NFL. Find out where Jackrabbit ranked.

When Jerry Reese went all-in on Janoris Jenkins, few around the NFL expected the move to pay dividends. It was encouraging to see the New York Giants take a chance in free agency, but Jenkins wasn’t viewed as a player worth a $62.5 million price tag.

A year later, Jenkins was honored as one of the league’s elite defensive backs, as well as one of the 100 best players in the NFL.

Jenkins entered the 2016 regular season without a single Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection on his resume. He bucked that trend in 2016, earning his first career Pro Bowl nod and receiving an All-Pro Second Team selection.

In a release on the Giants’ official Instagram account, it was revealed that Jenkins had been voted by his peers as the No. 54 player in the NFL.

That’s an incredible honor for one of the most dominant cornerbacks in the NFL today.

Jenkins consistently lined up against the best wide receivers in the NFL, and he more than held his own. Following the 2016 NFL season, Pro Football Focus ranked him No. 8 amongst cornerbacks and No. 40 overall.

Jenkins earned those rankings by recording 49 tackles, three interceptions, 1.0 sack, a forced fumble, and 18 passes defended in 15 games played.

Jenkins also allowed just 50 percent of the passes thrown his way to be completed, per Pro Football Focus.

Jenkins and fellow cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie form one of the best cornerback duos in the NFL. Along with superstar safety Landon Collins, the Giants’ secondary helped anchor the league’s second-ranked scoring defense.

In 2017, Jenkins will be expected to play at just as high of a level as he helps the Giants compete for a fifth Super Bowl.
