New York Giants: Ranking the greatest quarterbacks in franchise history
1. Eli Manning
From a statistical perspective, no New York Giants quarterback is in Eli Manning’s tier. He holds every franchise record imaginable from a passing perspective, and has the championship glory to complement those feats.
Whether or not you believe that Manning is the No. 1 quarterback in franchise history, he’s undeniably deserving of high praise.
Entering the 2017 season, Manning has 48,218 career passing yards—all in a Giants jersey and 14,756 yards more than the No. 2 player on the list: Phil Simms. He also has 320 career touchdowns, which is 121 more than the No. 2 player: Again, Simms.
Manning also holds the franchise records for completions, attempts, passing yards per game, and single-season passing yards—the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spots, for that matter.
Beyond the individual production, Manning is a two-time Super Bowl champion and two-time Super Bowl MVP. The 2011 run ranks amongst the best of all-time, with it culminating in a legendary upset of the 18-0 New England Patriots.
Some may debate whether or not Manning is the best quarterback on this list, but he’s clearly No. 1 as far as his tenure with the Giants is concerned.
