It’s no secret the Giants have struggled to find consistency at the linebacker position. B.J. Goodson has shown some promise as New York’s middle linebacker but has missed six games this season. Jewell was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday and was a consistent playmaker for the Hawkeyes.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller has Jewell listed as his biggest sleeper at the linebacker position on his most recent Big Board. The 6-foot-2 236-pound linebacker has amassed 422 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss, 26 passes defended, 10 sacks, six interceptions, and three forced fumbles during his college career. The Giants could also look to target a cornerback or defensive end early in the third-round. But Jewell has the potential to be a steal and a franchise linebacker for an NFL defense for the next decade.
