A new era in Big Blue football will start Sunday.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will not start for the G-Men for the first time since his rookie season.

Giants second-year head coach Ben McAdoo announced earlier this week the team would start Geno Smith at quarterback against the Oakland Raiders. Big Blue’s offense has struggled all season, but it should get a boost with the return of wide receiver Sterling Shepard.

The Giants second-year receiver missed the team’s last two games but has been cleared to play after being a full participant in practice all week.

While the G-Men (2-9) are seeking their third win of the season, the Raiders are fighting for their playoff lives. The Silver and Black (5-6) sit just one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

The Giants will need to win five key matchups if they want to leave Oakland with a win on Sunday.
