Smith will make his first start since tearing his ACL against the Baltimore Ravens last season. The former Jets quarterback amassed 12-18 starting record during his four-year stint with Gang Green and has thrown 28 touchdowns to 36 interceptions.

Smith draws a favorable matchup in his first start for Big Blue and the return of Shepard should help the former second-round pick out West Virginia. The Raiders have the NFL’s 27th ranked pass defense in terms of yards allowed. Oakland’s secondary has given up 19 touchdowns through the air, and Bowman is the only player on the team’s roster with an interception this season.

Smith will have to take advantage of Oakland’s struggling secondary if the G-Men hope to leave the Bay Area with a victory in Week 13.
