It may be unlikely for Harbaugh to leave his alma mater in Ann Arbor, but the chance to coach a historic franchise like the New York Giants doesn’t come along too often. The Wolverines are coming off a disappointing 8-4 season despite another top recruiting class, and Harbaugh has never stayed a head coach anywhere longer than four seasons. The former 49ers head coach led San Francisco to three consecutive NFC Championship games and to the Super Bowl during the 2012 season. Harbaugh helped with the development of quarterbacks Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick during his tenure in San Francisco and could help Big Blue groom their quarterback of the future.
