#4 – Detroit Lions Defensive Coordinator Teryl Austin
The Lions defensive coordinator has been interviewed for a head coaching position in each of the three offseasons since joining the Detroit franchise. Austin, 52, is considered one of the top defensive minds in football and has interviewed with the Giants, Bears, Chargers, Falcons, Bills, 49ers, Browns, Titans, and Dolphins over the years, according to MLive. While the Lions defense has been far from dominant during Austin’s tenure, Detroit did make the playoffs in two of his first three seasons. Austin won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 as their defensive backs coach.
