Josh McDaniels may be the hottest coordinator in the NFL, but Matt Patricia is surely not flying under the radar. The Patriots long-time assistant coach has been with the franchise since 2004, working his way up from offensive assistant to defensive coordinator. He has won three Super Bowls in New England and led the Patriots to the top ranked defense in 2016 in terms of points allowed. Patricia’s defense struggled early this season, but the mark of a great coach is someone that can turn things around in-season. That’s exactly what Patricia has done. New England’s defense has given up an average 11.8 points per game during their current eight-game winning streak after giving up an average of 31.2 points in their first four games.
