Surprise, surprise an offensive tackle kicks off the list of top prospects. Rankin is Mississippi State’s first offensive lineman since Gabe Jackson to earn first-team All-SEC honors.

The Bulldogs offensive line gave up the fewest sacks (11) in program history in 2017, which was also the fewest of any Power 5 program. Mississippi State’s 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle logged 17 starts during his collegiate career and has already accepted his invitation to the Senior Bowl.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper lists Rankin as the fourth best offensive tackle prospect in this year’s class, and his colleague Todd McShay had the Minnesota Vikings select the JUCO transfer with the 29th overall pick in his first mock draft.

Rankin is surely not a first-round target for Big Blue, but he could prove to be a solid value selection if available at the start of the second-round.
