The Giants may decide to move on from Eli Apple after suspending him for the team’s regular season finale and ironically could replace him with another Buckeye. Big Blue seems highly unlikely to select a cornerback in the first-round of the 2018 draft, but that doesn’t mean Ward won’t be on New York’s radar.

Kiper lists Ward as the 12th best prospect on his Big Board.

While Apple hasn’t panned out for the G-Men, former Buckeyes cornerback Marshon Lattimore has visibly helped turnaround New Orleans’ defense in his rookie season.

Ward is neither Lattimore nor Apple, but he has a good chance of being the top cornerback off the board come April. The 5-foot-10, 191-pound cornerback plays bigger than his size, and Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller lists him as the “best slot cornerback” in this year’s draft class.

Ward recorded 37 tackles, two interceptions, and knocked down 15 passes in 2017. The All-American cornerback elected not to play in the Cotton Bowl after announcing his decision to enter this year’s draft.
