Carter may not be the best fit for New York’s defense, but that will likely depend on Big Blue’s next head coach and the team’s newly appointed defensive coordinator. The Bulldogs 6-foot-6, 243-pound outside linebacker played a huge role in Georgia’s Rose Bowl win over Oklahoma, recording a blocked field and 10 tackles.

The G-Men have struggled to find any consistency at the linebacker position, and Carter could fill a void at outside linebacker should the team not retain Devon Kennard in free agency.

Through four seasons in Athens, Carter has amassed 162 tackles, 21.5 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, and six forced fumbles. The Bulldogs senior would likely be an ideal fit as an outside linebacker in 3-4 defensive front, but he has shown the ability to drop in coverage when needed.

Carter ranks No. 7 overall for linebackers on Miller’s prospect rankings. Bleacher Report’s draft analyst labels the Georgia linebacker the “best pass-rusher” at his position.

The Bulldogs linebacker can continue to boost his draft stock with another big performance on Monday night and has the potential to be starting outside linebacker for an NFL franchise in 2018.
