Evans is looking to join Reuben Foster and Reggie Ragland as the latest Crimson Tide inside linebacker to start for an NFL franchise. Ragland was the No. 41 overall pick in the 2016 draft and San Francisco traded back up into the first-round to select Foster 31st overall last year.

The Giants have lacked leadership and stability at the linebacker position in recent years, and Evans could prove to be a steal if available at the start of the second-round.

The 6-foot-3, 234-pound linebacker set multiple career-highs in 2017 despite missing time with a groin injury. Evans has recorded 66 tackles, 11.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games.

He recorded nine tackles, one sack, and knocked down a pass in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. NFL draft analysts have differing opinions as to who the top inside linebacker is in this year’s draft class.

Miller lists the Crimson Tide linebacker as the No. 8 overall prospect and labels him the “most NFL-ready” player at his position. Kiper, on the hand, has him ranked No. 21 overall and places him behind only one other inside linebacker.
