New York Giants: A deeper dive on Darnold, Rosen and Allen
By Curt Macysyn
Josh Rosen (UCLA)
At 6-4, 210 lbs., UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen has the physique of Eli Manning. And his game appears eerily reminiscent of the current New York Giants quarterback. On game film that was reviewed, Rosen operated mostly out of the shotgun formation, with much of it also in the infamous “11” personnel package. In particular, Rosen throw a very effective seam route, which could mesh well with tight end Evan Engram. While Manning and Rosen have similar games, Rosen has much more foot speed than Manning. He will be able to utilize this asset to avoid pressure, as well as be a rushing threat in some goal line packages. The New York Giants should have no reservations about selecting Rosen with the No. 2 overall selection.
