Giants Trade No. 2 Overall Pick To The New York Jets

Gettleman pulls off a big trade in GMEN HQ’s first mock draft, sending the No. 2 overall pick to the New York Jets for four draft selections.

While the Jets get the second overall pick and their quarterback of the future, Big Blue gets the No. 6 overall pick, Gang Green’s second-round selection from Seattle, a fourth-round pick, and a first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said last week that he would be willing to trade up in the 2018 draft when asked on ESPN 98.7.

"“The simple answer to that question is yes. If that was a player we felt strong about, we would have no qualms of potentially trying to go up and get him.”"

The transaction would be similar to Cleveland’s trade with Philadelphia in the 2016 draft, but New York would only be trading back to No. 6 overall, as opposed to No. 8. Big Blue would also receive just one pick in next year’s draft but would only be giving up the No. 2 overall pick.
