Edmunds is quickly becoming one of the top prospects to watch at the linebacker position this draft season. The Hokies junior linebacker has the ability to play both inside and outside linebacker at the next level, and would arguably be an upgrade over any starting linebacker on Big Blue’s roster.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker recorded 108 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 2017. Both Kiper and Miller have the Virginia Tech prospect going in the top 12 of their respective mock drafts.

ESPN’s lead draft analyst has the Cincinnati Bengals selecting Edmunds with the No. 12 overall pick, while Bleacher Report’s top draft analyst has the Hokies linebacker going one spot earlier to the Miami Dolphins.

Miller writes that “Edmunds is somewhere between Telvin Smith and Anthony Barr.”

Giants fans would surely be happy with either of those players in the middle of their defense. But Edmunds seems unlikely to land with Big Blue given the team’s top needs and his current draft projection.
