Gettleman was hired prior to the team’s regular season finale. He wasted no time making his presence known, waiving starting right tackle Bobby Hart. He also fired vice president of player evalutation Marc Ross.

The Giants have since named Pat Shurmur the franchise’s 18th head coach. He, in turn, has named James Bettcher the team’s next defensive coordinator.

Both coaches have great résumés and Shurmur was just named the Associated Press’ Assistant Coach of the Year for his work in Minnesota.

While Big Blue’s new head coach and defensive coordinator bring plenty of success with them to the Big Apple, the Giants have multiple personnel decisions to make that will impact the franchise both in the short-term and long-term.
