Like most NFL players, there is no job security for kickers. It may be the most overlooked position in football given the pressure they face every Sunday. But when a kicker proves to be consistent, he can play for over two decades.

That’s exactly what Adam Vinatieri has done. The future Hall of Famer intends to return for a 23rd season in 2018.

Despite turning 45-years-old this past December, the four-time Super Bowl winner is still one of the best kickers in the game.

Vinatieri connected on 85.3 percent of his field goal attempts in 2017 and made 5-of-6 field goals from 50-plus yards. Playing inside at Lucas Oil Stadium likely helps boost Vinatieri’s numbers, but that surely doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the best kickers on the open market.
