#10 – Aldrick Rosas

The Giants were expected to make changes at both kicker and punter this offseason. Gettleman did move on from Brad Wing and acquired punter Riley Dixon through a trade with the Broncos, but somehow Aldrick Rosas remained unscathed.

In his first season with the Giants, the 23-year-old kicker out of Southern Oregon connected on just 72 percent of his field goal attempts. That’s the worst field percentage of any kicker in the NFL with a minimum of 20 attempts last season.

The Giants did add some competition for Rosas this offseason, signing Marshall Koehn. But the job is likely Rosas to lose.

Koehn and Rosas both entered the league as undrafted free agents in 2016, but Koehn has yet to attempt a regular season field goal. He did make an extra point for the Cincinnati Bengals in his only regular season appearance. He also made a 58-yard field goal in a preseason game, but the Minnesota Vikings elected to go with Kai Forbath over the former Hawkeye.

Whoever wins the kicking job for Big Blue will need to step up in 2018. For now, it looks like it’s Rosas’ job to lose. Either way, the Giants are in need of improved play at the kicker position.

New York’s inability to put points on the board on special teams played a significant factor in their low-scoring offense.
