#6 – Right Guard

The Giants have a rebuilt offensive line with Solder and Will Hernandez locking down the left side. Brett Jones is expected to retain the starting center role in 2018, but New York’s right side of the offensive line is a work in progress.

As of now, Patrick Omameh is considered the frontrunner for the starting right guard position. Gettleman signed the five-year veteran to a three-year, $15 million contract in free agency, according to Spotrac.

Omameh started 13 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season and has logged 45 starts in his career. The Giants are paying him starter money, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee him the starting role.

John Jerry and John Greco will also be vying for the starting right guard position. Both players have plenty of experience, playing in over 100 games each.

Jerry has not missed a start for the Giants since 2015 and was arguably New York’s best all-around offensive lineman last season. He also has something to prove, entering the final year of his contract.

Undrafted free agent Nick Gates could be a sleeper candidate to keep an eye on. But it’s likely a three-man race with Omameh leading the way.
