No. 7 – Will Hernandez

The New York Giants have four rookies who could potentially make this list. Will Hernandez, Saquon Barkley, Lorenzo Carter, and B.J. Hill are all likely to have significant roles in their first season.

However, Hernandez is one of only two rookies to crack this list due to New York’s desperate need of improved offensive line play. Giants fans have grown to appreciate offensive linemen in recent seasons.

It’s not a surprise. Over the past few years, Big Blue’s offensive line has struggled to open running lanes and in pass protection. Hernandez is expected to immediately help in both areas.

The Giants had a first-round grade on the 6-foot-2, 327-pound offensive lineman. He earned Pro Football Focus’ highest single-season grade (95.2) for a guard in college.

Hernandez is already bringing a toughness to Big Blue’s revamped offensive line in his first offseason. Giants fans are excited to see Gettleman’s newest “Hog Molly” in action.

If New York’s offense is able to live up to expectations, Hernandez is sure to receive plenty of praise. The Giants have not had a Pro Bowl offensive lineman since Chris Snee in 2012, according to Pro Football Reference.

That could quickly change in 2018.
