New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions: Top 5 things to watch

No. 2 – Will Davis Webb Bounce Back?
Davis Webb’s training camp hype didn’t translate on the field last Thursday. The second-year quarterback completed just 9-of-22 passes for 70 yards and was off target on multiple throws.
Webb has yet to throw a touchdown through his first four preseason outings. He completed just 52.9 percent of his passes last preseason and clearly didn’t show the progress Giants fans have been waiting for.
The 2017 third-round pick out Cal still has plenty of time to turn it around. It starts Friday night against the Detroit Lions.
Manning believes his backup will shake off his poor performance in Week 2 of the preseason, via New York’s team website.
"“No, he didn’t need me to say anything – he’s ready. We always talk about the game plan, and this and that. I don’t need to say anything specific, he’ll be fine.”"
While Webb has been the center of attention this preseason, Big Blue’s rookie quarterback Kyle Lauletta showcased why the Giants thought he was a steal in the fourth round.
The 6-foot-3, 221-pound quarterback out Richmond completed 6-of-9 passes for 48 yards and could look to leapfrog Webb on the depth chart. The rookie is still far behind Webb in practice but could be closing the gap with another solid outing in Detroit. That obviously will also depend on Webb’s play Friday night.
