No. 8 – In defense of Alec Ogletree

Very simply, linebacker Alec Ogeltree gets no respect. Actually, he’s the best linebacker the New York Giants have had in a long time, probably since Antonio Pierce. So, of course, I find it hard to believe that he’s the 75th best linebacker in the NFL. According to Pro Football Focus, that’s what his 50.7 grade ranks him. Now I respect PFF, but football needs a better way to measure player proficiency. I mean that baseball and hockey have adjusted for variations, and subsequently have put a legitimate numerical value on the player performance. In any event, Ogletree remains a prolific tackler, as well as a defensive leader. I’d take 11 Alec Ogletrees on my defense, any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
