Quarterback. Missouri. Drew Lock. 8. player. 59. In a trade with the Detroit Lions, the Miami Dolphins move up to the No. 8 selection in order to secure the services of the former Mizzou Tiger.

Drew Lock may have the most tangible leadership qualities of any of the available quarterbacks in this draft. The downside to him comes from the fact that he’s still a work-in-progress, despite playing three full seasons at Missouri. Lock can make all the necessary throws, and his pro day video shows that he cleaned up his footwork. Honestly, he should remind folks of an SEC signal-caller (Jay Cutler). Hopefully, Lock has more passion for the game than the controversial Cutler did. This would be the real “Kansas City” model at work, as Ryan Fitzpatrick would be a great mentor from which Lock can learn the professional game.
