No. 4 – Cody Latimer

Many New York Giants fans automatically assume that Cody Latimer will pick up a considerable amount of slack after the Odell Beckham trade. After all, they remember his four-catch, 72 yard and one touchdown performance in the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.

Good luck with that!

According to Pro Football Reference, Latimer has started just five games in his five-year NFL career. Last season, he played in just six contests with two starts. Over his entire NFL career, he still has less than 1,000 receiving yards (635 yards).

Latimer will get an opportunity to shine with Big Blue yet again this season, and it would be wise to remain skeptical about his contributions. Undoubtedly, Latimer flashes talent, but consistent production isn’t his strong suit. At this point in an NFL career, you are what you are, and fans should consider whatever they get out of Latimer as gravy.
