QB/TE Eric Dungey

I know what you’re thinking. The Giants don’t need another quarterback nor do they need a tight end, so where is this kid going to fit on their roster?

That remains to be seen. What they really envision for the 6’3″, 220-pound Syracuse product is role similar to that of New Orleans’ Taysom Hill – a change-up player to both Eli Manning and/or Daniel Jones. Translation: he can run the ‘wildcat’.

The Giants also are investing heavily in special teams, and that means adding superior athletes and hard-nosed football players. Dungey is both of those, but if he is going to stick on this roster he’s got to have a position.

"“The thing I try to do is learn the offense from the quarterback perspective, and honestly, it’s really interesting,” Dungey told Art Stapleton of USAToday. “That way helps me learn the quarterback position from the tight end spot as well, and what’s required from all the spots. There’s no saying if and when I could move to different positions, so I’m trying to be flexible and versatile. I want to be ready to go if they want me at quarterback, but I need to be ready to go wherever they want me to play.”"

Let’s see what that role might be, if any.
