Wayne Gallman (concussion)

The Giants were more than okay with having Wayne Gallman be the feature back for a couple of weeks while Barkley rested up, but unfortunately, Gallman suffered a concussion last week against the Vikings early on in the affair. The injury left Big Blue extremely thin at runningback, as undrafted Jon Hilliman shouldered the load in the backfield for most of the rest of the contest.

At this moment, the Giants have not brought in any other runningback to help with the depth issues. As puzzling as that is, it could be an indication that they don’t think Gallman is at risk of missing more than one game (and possibly that Saquon is just about back). Concussions are always tricky, and you can expect the team to be extra cautious going forward after what has happened with Sterling Shepard.

Gallman was never considered to have a shot at suiting up for the short week, but I’d be surprised if he’s not back on the field with his teammates against Arizona next week.
