It’s becoming obvious that the New York Giants should become sellers at the trade deadline. Here are five players that could be on the move.

New York Giants General Manager Dave Gettleman made a costly mistake in 2018, when he attempted to put a band-aid on a bullet hole while taking over as the new head man in charge. After a tumultuous start to that 2018 season, Gettleman realized the mistake he had made and attempted a last ditch effort by unloading several veterans for pennies on the dollar at the trade deadline.

While this year represents a much different scenario as the team is in surefire rebuild mode, expect there to be more action at the trade deadline, as the franchise will undoubtedly look to acquire any assets it can for the future. While this Giants roster isn’t exactly bursting at the seams with attractive pieces for other teams, there surely are a few players that could warrant a look from contenders around the league.

Gettleman has famously (or infamously?) stated that he will not be the first person to pick up the phone in trade negotiations as it cedes power, but unfortunately for him, that’s just not how the world works. The embattled GM will have to get creative -and maybe even (gasp) make the first phone call- if he wants to squeeze the most he can out of the potential trade litter he is dealing with. I tried to think outside the box a little on some of these, and go with a couple guys others may not be talking about, but could in fact be attractive to contending teams who may suffer an unfortunate injury and need a quick fix.
