2nd round selection (35): Alex Leatherwood-Offensive tackle, University of Alabama

The New York Giants fill another massive need by selecting Alex Leatherwood, with their second-round pick. In doing so, they get an extremely athletic tackle who should immediately help shore up their offensive line issues. By selecting Leatherwood, the Giants could potentially move a struggling Nate Solder to the right tackle position, further improving their putrid offensive line play.

Leatherwood, who is 6’6″ and 310 pounds, is one of the top-five tackles available in the draft. He possesses excellent footwork and a ton of natural power at the tackle position. The Leatherwood selection allows Big Blue to lock down a critical position that they have been looking to secure since they selected noteable bust, Ereck Flowers, in the 2015 draft.
