7th round selection: Nigel Warrior-Safety, University of Tennessee
The New York Giants are currently utilizing Jabril Peppers at strong safety, while attempting to convert 2019 pick Julian Love from the cornerback position to the free safety position. By selecting Warrior, they add solid young depth at the safety position.
Warrior is good in coverage and is versatile in various coverage schemes. His most valuable asset is his physicality, as he is known for his big hits and fundamentally sound tackling skills. While there are questions about his approach angles and ability to catch the ball, he provides the Giants with a good young heavy hitter, who is a high motor guy at safety and on special teams.
