NY Giants Football: 2010’s All-Decade team -Quarterback
By Matt Clark
Quarterback has been a position of certainty for the NY Giants over the past decade, making the top three at the position extremely easy to name.
Selecting the top three quarterbacks to start for the NY Giants in the past decade was perhaps the easiest task of any position being outlined for the Giants All-Decade team. New York has had only three starters in the past ten years, Eli Manning, Geno Smith, and Daniel Jones.
The quarterback position for the Giants has been manned by Eli Manning since his rookie year in 2004. Manning would go on to start 210 consecutive games for the Giants, a streak that ended in 2017 in a controversy that would ultimately cost general manager Jerry Reese and head coach Ben McAdoo their jobs.
Manning would return to his role as starting quarterback after sitting out just one game. He would continue to start until two games into this season when first-round draft pick, Daniel Jones was handed the starting quarterback position.
This year was certainly one of major transition at the quarterback position, as Eli Manning likely has seen his last snaps with the NY Giants, perhaps in the NFL. Meanwhile, Jones is likely the future of the franchise at the quarterback position, as he showed a great deal of promise as a rookie.
If Daniel Jones can play anywhere near to the level that Eli Manning did for them, Giants fans will be extremely happy for years to come. Here is an overview of the past decade of the quarterback position for the New York Giants:
