7. Matt Rhule, NCAA Baylor Bears head coach

Interview: As soon as Tuesday

Here is the golden candidate, the man who can do no wrong and the man the NY Giants are currently the most interested at the moment in being their head coach. Rhule, born in New York City and playing linebacker at Penn State under Joe Paterno, has had a very balanced coaching career so far.

He spent the first half of his career as a defensive coach fresh out of college until 2005 before converting to the offensive side of the ball where he remains as a specialist with Baylor’s high powered unit.

Baylor was 1-11 in his first year as head coach but he quickly made them a winning program culminating into a trip this year to the Sugar Bowl, but it is not the first time he has turned around a program. Rhule took Temple from 2-10 in his first year to 10 win seasons in his last two seasons at the university in only a four-year span.

The former Giants assistant offensive line coach seems to turn around college programs wherever he goes, but an NFL program remains a big beast to handle. Rhule seems to think he can and has an interest in the NY Giants job without a doubt, and they have an interest in him.

The engagement ring is bought, the wedding is set, the NY Giants just have to take Rhule out on that first date.
