3. Flip fifth pick to the Raiders

Since Jon Gruden took over as the head coach of the Raiders, there have been rumors that he is interested in moving on from current quarterback Derek Carr. There have been multiple reports that they intend on using one of their first-round picks to select a quarterback in the 2020 NFL draft.

If this is the case, the NY Giants would be wise to swing a trade for the 5th pick acquired from Miami to the Raiders in exchange for their 12th and 19th picks in the first round, as well as one of the third-round picks of the Raiders, either pick 80 or 81.

Oakland would then be assured of landing their future quarterback and could potentially trade Carr to recoup some of their lost draft capital. Gruden would then have his guy at quarterback and can move forward with the organization in their inaugural year in Las Vegas.

While the NY Giants would be dropping a bit in the draft, they would go from possessing the 4th overall pick in the first round to having the 12th, 19th and Miami’s pick from Houston at the back end of the first round. In addition, they would recoup the third-round pick they lost to the New York Jets when Gettleman traded for Leonard Williams.
