NY Giants : 5 edge rushers to target in the draft
By Matt Clark
With a clear need for additional pass rushers, here is an in-depth look at five edge rushers the NY Giants should consider in the upcoming draft.
It is no secret the NY Giants are in dire need of additional pass rushers on their roster. The 2019 season saw the Giants have only one player, Markus Golden, have double-digit sack totals, as he had 10 sacks on the season.
Golden is now a free agent and is not a sure thing to return to New York next season. With Oshane Ximines and Lorenzo Carter tying for a distant second place on the team with four and a half sacks, the Giants would be wise to target pass rushers in both free agency and in the upcoming NFL draft.
While free agency boasts a number of elite pass rushers who are available, the upcoming draft is fairly shallow in regards to the depth at pass rusher, as compared to previous years. As a result, the Giants will need to be judicious when they target a pass rusher in the draft.
Elite pass-rushing option Chase Young is expected to be selected before the Giants make their selection with the fourth overall pick in the draft. The other pass-rushing options available aren’t projected to be top five picks in the draft, meaning that the Giants will likely select another position with the fourth overall pick.
With that in mind, here are five pass-rushing options that the NY Giants should strongly consider drafting in the 2020 NFL Draft.
