Las Vegas oddsmakers have released their over/under win totals for 2020 and the NY Giants are not getting much respect.

After regressing in 2019 to a paultry four wins, not many outside of East Rutherford are giving the NY Giants much of a shot to do damage in 2020. Even with a new coaching staff, plenty of cap space and a high draft pick, Big Blue’s number came in very close to the worst in the league.

Only the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Redskins are penciled in to have a worse 2020 than the NY Giants at the moment, as the three bottom feeders all have totals of 5.5 wins (via OddsShark). Big Blue’s total is slightly higher at 6.5 wins, although they are being given +100 odds on that total, which means they feel even less confident they’ll make that number.

It might be prudent to take a look at jumping on that number now, as the NY Giants figure to make some noise this offseason. As we’ve seen with the NY Knicks, we’ll have to believe it when we see it, but Dave Gettleman and company surely have the assets to make this team far better in year three.

For what it’s worth, there are five other teams that have been given the same 6.5 over/under win total. This means that Vegas sees the Giants as one of the bottom third teams in the league, which is a fair assessment at this juncture.

For some reason, the Philadelphia Eagles (10 wins) and the Dallas Cowboys (9 wins) are still being given respect amongst oddsmakers, even after last season’s failures. Depending on where you had/have the Eagles and Cowboys, the NFC East projected standings seem to be about exactly where they were last season.

Will this be the year that the NY Giants finally take a jump and step up and challenge the two ‘powerhouses’ of the division?

Only time will tell.
