1. EDGE Markus Golden

A player NY Giants fans are all too familiar with after a dynamite 2019 season, Markus Golden has not found the warm market he was hoping for after posting double-digit sacks for Big Blue on a prove-it deal. With little coming out about potential interest from other teams, it’s looking more and more likely that the reunion we all have been hoping for might actually happen.

The biggest problem here is the team’s available cap space. Originally, it was thought that Golden would be looking at a contract that would pay him upwards of $10M-$12M per season on a multi-year deal. With the way things have transpired, that just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen.

So, can two sides that potentially both need each other come together and make something happen? It’ll be tricky because Golden obviously rightly feels he proved his worth to the Giants last year and it would be tough for him to swallow taking another below-market contract.

With most of the NY Giants’ free-agent contracts being front-loaded to this point, the team could afford to backload a contract for Golden and get him a number closer to what he feels comfortable with.

Chance it happens: Moderate

Potential offer: 3 years/$30M ($20M GTD)
