Players that the Giants should heavily consider, but will likely be gone by the 99th pick:
Tyler Biadasz- C, Wisconsin
Biadasz is a first-round talent that might be the best center in the 2020 NFL draft. He will likely fall into day 3 because of hip surgery that seemed to affect his play in 2019. He was not able to participate in the combine because of shoulder surgery.
The 2018 version of Biadasz is exactly the kind of center the Giants would need. He fits well in a power gap scheme that Jason Garrett and Marc Columbo ran in Dallas. If he falls to the Giants at the end of the third round, he would fill a huge need for the G-Men and be worth the gamble.
Jeremy Chinn- S, Southern Illinois
Chinn is an athletic freak that wowed everyone at the combine. His strong play at the senior bowl eased concerns about his small school experience. Chinn has all of the physical tools to excel at strong safety or sub-package linebacker for the NY Giants.
Even if the Giants select Isaiah Simmons with their first-round pick, they should not hesitate to take a player like Chinn. 80 percent of snaps in the NFL are played with three or more receivers, and the Giants need multiple guys that can cover and make tackles in the open field.
Cam Akers- RB, Florida St.
Running back is not a position of need, but Akers could be too talented for the NY Giants to pass up in the third or fourth round. Cam is built compact, runs with power, and could spell Saquon Barkley on short-yardage plays for Big Blue. Playing behind a porous offensive line at Florida State in 2019, Akers was still able to produce over 1100 yards and a 5.0 YPC average.
Akers 4.47 40-time at the combine proves that he has some big-play ability, but most of Aker’s damage will happen between the tackles. He could produce a legit thunder and lightning combo with Saquon, while Dion Lewis gets some reps on third downs. This could keep Saquon healthy and fresh deep into the 2020 season.
