I was ready to add safety depth with the 150th overall selection in the fifth-round when the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders approached me with an offer to trade back. The offer was the 150th overall selection in the fifth round for the Raider’s fifth-round pick (159th overall) and sixth-round selection (194th overall) that they had received in a trade earlier in the draft.

While I wanted to draft a safety, there was a number that I had rated fairly close together and loved the idea of only moving back nine picks and recouping a sixth-round pick after trading it away in the trade back with the Chargers in the first round of the draft.
