For the first time in his career, Dave Gettleman is looking into a first-round trade back for the NY Giants.

With the recent rumors that Dave Gettleman and the NY Giants are interested in trading down from the fourth-overall pick, NY Giants fans need to start preparing for other draft targets than the ones they originally anticipated.

That is not a bad thing, however, as a trade-back would obviously leave the team with more much-needed draft capital. Currently, Big Blue doesn’t own a draft selection between picks #36 and #99, which is a general area where teams tend to find starters and solid players.

The Giants currently have as many as four major positional holes and two picks inside the top 98 is simply not going to be enough to fix all of them. Obviously, it’s going to take two to tango in terms of making a trade, but it’s a very real scenario.

Today I’ll be looking at five potential NY Giants draft picks in the first round if a trade down were to occur.
