As if the NY Giants’ 2019 season wasn’t brutal enough, Big Blue failed to land a single representative on the NFC Pro Bowl squad for the first time since 1996.

You read that right; the NY Giants didn’t send a single player to represent Big Blue in last year’s Pro Bowl. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, not a single Giants ended up in the top ten in fan voting.

This was the first time since 1996 that the NY Giants didn’t send a single representative to the game.

Some of that probably has to do with how poorly the team played overall, but still, we see great players on mediocre teams make the Pro Bowl every year. For example, even the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins sent players to the league’s annual  All-Star game.

Most of it has to do with the fact that there just simply weren’t many – if any – deserving NY Giants to send to Orlando. You could make a case for punter Riley Dixon to have deserved to make the squad, but you can’t expect many fans or even media members to watch and keep close tabs on punters.

Either way, it still would have been pretty pathetic to only send a punter (as good as Dixon is).

After a solid offseason that has seen Dave Gettleman put together a studly draft on paper and make decent free agent signings, you can bet that the team expects to have numerous stars break out this season and in turn not break anymore embarrassing team records.

With both coordinator roles and the head coaching role consisting of promising new coaches, you’d have to figure that Jason Garrett, for one, will be able to coax a monster season or two out of t least one of the offensive players.

The defense has less star power, but surely has a few young players that are primed to take the next leap.

Here are five NY Giants that could make the Pro Bowl in 2020.
