1. OG Kevin Zeitler

Despite long now being considered one of the top offensive guards in the league, NY Giants’ right guard, Kevin Zeitler, has yet to earn a Pro Bowl nod despite having multiple years where he had a legit case to make the squad.

Over the last five years, Zeitler has missed just one game and over his eight-year career he’s played sixteen games five times. He is a model of consistency and one of the best pass-blocking guards in the entire NFL.

In my mind, he’s never gotten his just due because he was playing on lousy teams with porous offensive lines; Zeitler played with the Bengals and Browns before this (even though a couple of those Bengals years the team was good). He wouldn’t get much help in that regard in his first year with the NY Giants as the offensive line was a major storyline throughout the NFL.

Even though he did end up missing his first game in five seasons, Zeitler turned in a terrific year that saw him almost play 1,000 snaps while allowing just 3 sacks and a crazy low 2 penalties. While his run blocking left a tad to be desired, the fact that he wasn’t even named an alternate really shows that he’s not as respected as he should be.

This year, with the new coaching staff and additions to the offensive line, I’m expecting for Zeitler to put in a career year as he enters the meat of his prime at age 30. New offensive line coach, Marc Colombo, should have the rest of the line in check which can only help Zeitler as we occasionally saw him struggle while trying to make up for a teammate’s mistake.

Will it be enough to make his first Pro Bowl? I believe so.

Chance it happens: 60%
