2. Daniel Jones has elite speed for a quarterback

Daniel Jones ran 19.47 mph on his 7-yard touchdown run vs. Tampa Bay, according to Next Gen Stats. It was one of the fastest speeds recorded by a QB in 2019. After Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray, there are few quarterbacks in the NFL with better top-end speed than Jones.

Daniel Jones ran a 4.67 40-yard dash at his Duke pro day. For comparison, Jones’ time beat Aaron Rodgers (4.71), Ben Roethlisberger (4.75), Josh Allen (4.75), Carson Wentz (4.77),  and Dak Prescott (4.79). When he gets out in the open field, he has the potential to make big plays with his legs.

Jones is not a run-first quarterback. He ran for two touchdowns in his first-ever NFL start but did not run for a touchdown for the rest of the season. That being said, there is reason to believe that Jones will use his legs more in 2020.

Fans of Big Blue watched Dak Prescott use the RPO effectively against the G-Men defense for the last couple of years. It is very conceivable that Jason Garrett will utilize more RPO and bootleg plays to get Jones on the move more. Prescott has run for 21 touchdowns during his four-year career. An up-tick in rushing touchdowns would help the Giants and the fantasy owners of their young quarterback.
