5. DL R.J. McIntosh

A player that I’m actually still high on because we just simply haven’t gotten to see him play too much, defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh is surely on the chopping block heading into year three of his four-year rookie deal he signed as a fifth-round draft pick in 2018.

The former University of Miami star fizzled out in his rookie year due to a series of injuries, only to bounce back to play 12 games in 2019 to mostly middling results. McIntosh put up 13 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 QB hits in a limited role with Big Blue.

It’s worth noting he only got on the field for 10% of the team’s defensive snaps, so we still haven’t really seen what the youngster can do. Still, the NY Giants defensive line might be the strongest positional group on the team and it’s going to be hard for him to earn snaps.

McIntosh is certainly a player I’d like to keep around for at least one more season to see if he can develop into anything, but I wouldn’t fault the team for moving on due to a lack of results so far.
