Da’Mari Scott

Da’Mari Scott is back for year two in NY Giants blue. Scott was scooped up off waivers in July of 2019 after being cut by the Buffalo Bills. He was cut in training camp and the Giants ended up getting him back in October, placing him on the Practice Squad. He was elevated to the active roster in November and stayed there for the rest of the season.

Da’Mari ended up as one of the team’s primary kick returners during Pat Shurmur’s revolving door at a position he greatly undervalued.

Da’Mari was in a reserve role on offense. He saw three passes come his way, catching two for a measly 22 yards. he also received one end-around that went for 5 yards.

Da’Mari returned 6 punts for an uninspiring 32 yards, averaging out to 5.3 yards per return. He did better as a kick returner, where he brought back 4 kicks for an average of 27.5 yards per return.

Scott will need to show more than he did last year to make this roster. His spot is easily replaceable by the returning Corey Coleman both at receiver and returner.

At this point, Scott is likely competing for the 5th or 6th receiver spot and would only see the field if some injuries struck the team at his positions. I don’t see him making the roster and he is likely a camp body for the summer.
