After there appeared to be a chance that DeAndre Baker’s legal case might turn his way, it’s now all but assured that his NY Giants’ career is over.

It’s been a good year for me in terms of making predictions about the NY Giants; unfortunately, this time, this prediction hurts the franchise dramatically.

When DeAndre Baker was initially charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, the case looked to be cut in dry. But in the days to follow, the case became murky as Baker and Quinton Dunbar’s lawyers announced they had sworn statements from people that say the pair had nothing to do with it.

I was one of the few that saw right through it and pontificated that something fishy was going on that likely included the paying off of the witnesses. If we had known at the time that it was the same original four witnesses that identified Baker initially, it would have been even easier to see.

Well, now it seems that’s exactly what happened as the New York Daily News dropped a bombshell on this Friday night in July when they uncovered testimony that appears to clearly prove that the witnesses were paid to recant their original statements.

You can read the full story here, but in a nutshell, two days after the alleged incident a representative for the witnesses, Dominic Johnson, oversaw the paying of 55K to the four victims at the law office of Michael Grieco, Quinton Dunbar’s lawyer.

The bombshell warrant includes video and social media evidence and leaves little doubt that the incident did in fact occur. Johnson went so far to brag about setting up the payoff in a social media direct message stating, ““I made them same n—-s that said they got robbed come in and say them Boys ain’t have nothing to Do with it.”

Obviously Baker is still innocent until proven guilty, but with this new evidence it’s a severe longshot he even lasts with the NY Giants until training camp.
