NY Giants front office/cap considerations

I’ll keep this one short and sweet, as even though I’ve been known to get after Dave Gettleman, I don’t really see where he deserves any blame here. Aldrick Rosas was signed as an undrafted free agent by Jerry Reese in 2017 and was here before Gettleman got here.

There’s a big difference between doing an entire character and talent evaluation and signing a player than simply choosing to retain a promising player when taking over a new team. If anyone deserves blame for the ‘culture effects’ that Rosas brings, it’s Jerry Reese.

As far as the cap goes, the NY Giants could cut Rosas at any time and have zero dead cap as his $3.2M RFA tender is non-guaranteed. In other words, money shouldn’t be a factor in this decision.
