Dallas Cowboys – Zack Martin, G

As much as it hurts to admit, Dallas has one of the most complete and talented offensive units in the NFL, as evident by their almost 7,000 total yards of offense in 2019 which lead the NFL.

There is no need for Big Blue to steal away Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, or Amari Cooper in this scenario. This turns the attention to the offensive line, and rightfully so considering the success of Dallas’ OL unit in recent years.

While Tyron Smith would also be highly considered in this dream scenario, his durability issues having not played a full 16-game season since 2015, combined with the fact that Andrew Thomas was just drafted to be the new franchise left tackle makes it hard to justify.

This leaves the obvious choice of taking one of the top two guards in the NFL in Zack Martin. While some might argue Quenton Nelson has already de-throned Martin as the league’s top guard, Martin’s success since entering the league is on an unprecedented level.

In his six seasons, he has missed only 2 games, made the Pro-Bowl every season, and is a 4x All-Pro selection. It would be incredibly ignorant to pass on stealing him if the NY Giants were ever given the chance.

This selection also makes sense in that Martin has primarily played right guard, allowing the Giants to leave Hernandez at left guard and replacing Kevin Zeitler, who could be a candidate to slide over to center or be traded.

This would upgrade the offensive line once more and make the front five arguably the best in the NFL. Kelce and Martin alone would be the best interior duo in the league and combined with Hernandez and Thomas, the jerseys of Danny Dimes and Saquon Barkley would stay relatively clean for the foreseeable future.

While this scenario will never play out like this, its fun to imagine what the NY Giants offense could look like while stealing from their biggest rivals.
