What other moves did the NY Giants have to make to get down to 80?

After cutting eight players the NY Giants didn’t have all that much more work to do to get down to 80, but one move is likely to raise eyebrows amongst Big Blue fans.

The ever-controversial Leonard Williams was placed on the non-football injury list, getting the team down to 81 after a surprise opt-out from wideout Da’Mari Scott on Sunday.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Williams showed up to training camp with a hamstring issue.

After those two moves, the NY Giants were and are at roster size of 81, but runningback Sandro Platzgummer isn’t officially counting against their roster limit due to him qualifying as an international pathway exemption.
