NY Giants fans can officially begin to forget about DeAndre Baker for quite some time as he was formally charged with four felonies on Friday.

If there were still any NY Giants fans holding out hope that embattled former first-round cornerback, DeAndre Baker, would miraculously have his charges dropped and in effect be able to play in 2020 can officially give up on that pipedream.

According to Liz Roscher of Yahoo Sports, not only was DeAndre Baker officially charged with the four counts of armed robbery with a firearm, his alleged co-conspirator did in fact have his charges dropped.

In a bit of good news for Baker, the formal charges left out the original counts of attempted assault with a deadly weapon which was always going to be hard to prove in court. It appears the prosecution is going with what they feel the strongest charges are as they are still enough to put Baker away for years.

I find it very peculiar that Quinton Dunbar had his charges outright dropped while DeAndre Baker is being ‘forced’ to go through a lengthy court process even though it looked like he was almost as dead to rights as Baker especially when it came to the paying off of the witnesses.

In other words, I have a hunch (not as strong of a hunch as I did about the duo paying off witnesses in the first place, but still…), that Dunbar may have rolled on Baker since he was the one accused of carrying the gun and setting up the whole debacle.

That would be the worst-case scenario for DeAndre Baker as Dave Gettleman and Joe Judge attempt to make a long-term decision on the matter, Dunbar testifying against Baker would be the most damning evidence against the former Georiga Bulldog yet which is really saying something.
