New York Giants: Which players will suffer most with no preseason

3.  S Xavier McKinney

I’ll be honest, I have no idea how the New York Giants ended up with Xavier McKinney in the second round. He was someone that many draft analysts expected to go 17th overall to the Dallas Cowboys.

While McKinney isn’t a typical deep safety and many think he lacks the athleticism to play deep middle safety consistently, I would disagree. McKinney is not the most athletically gifted safety, sure, but he processes plays and reacts quicker than many other safeties.

Given the starting safety duo on the New York Giants roster, McKinney and Jabrill Peppers could make the New York Giants defense one of the most versatile defenses in the NFL.

Unfortunately, McKinney won’t be tested by a high-powered offense until the regular season, so chemistry could be a very real concern on the back end.
